jullie laten er echt geen gras over groeien om in razende snelheid China en andere omgevingen te verkennen. Geweldig!
Als je ons door internet omstandigheden niet in de gelegenheid bent om ons mee te laten genieten van jullie avonturen. Probeer dan wel een dagboek bij te houden. Jullie maken zoveel mee dat je snel geneigd bent een en ander te vergeten. Maar ga zo door, het lijkt wel en beetje op een militaire opleiding die al jullie ouders vroeger verplicht moesten volgen. Alhoewel ik heb bij de marine nooit hoeven te overnachten in vriezend weer in een strandhuis, daar wordt je wel een grote vent van, hulde. Overigens wil ik je ook nog even melden dat een SMSje naar of vanuit China een kleine €5,00 kost, dus beter via het waar ben jij. Je wist niet helemaal waar je naar op reis bent, nu dat heb ik even nagekeken op internet, en inderdaad een stuk ongerept China zie hier wat het internet meldt;
Old Town of Lijiang

Lijiang, in south China's Yunnan Province, is the only Chinese city listed on UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage list. With a history of 1,300 years, it is generally referred to as the Old Town of Lijiang, home to the ancient Dongba culture and a major scenic area in China.

Lijiang is heavily populated by people of Naxi nationality. It is the county seat of the Naxi Autonomous County. It is situated on a plateau at an elevation of 2,600m and is impressive because of its scenery and lush vegetation. With the Jade Dragon Mountain as backdrop, the old town has adapted itself harmoniously to the natural scenery. The architecture is especially noteworthy for the blending of elements from several cultures that have come together over many centuries. Lijiang maintains an ancient water-supply system of great complexity and ingenuity that is still functioning effectively.



The people of Naxi, while developing their land of snow-clad mountains and turbulent rivers since ancient times, have to their credit the "Dong Ba Culture" seen as one.

The Naxi Nationality

The Naxi nationality has a population of 281,000, most of whom live in compact communities in Lijinag Naxi Autonomous County, Ninlglang County, Yongsheng County and Weixi ,Zhongdian and Deqin counties in Diqing.
The Naxi nationality has a long history. Their ancestors were a nomadic tribe from northern China called "Qing". In upper reaches of the Jinsha River during the Sui and Tang Dynasties, and were called "Moshayi", "Moxoeyi" and "Mosuo". They called themselves "Na", "Naxi" means people who worship black or a nation. therefore "Naxi" means people who worship black or a great nationality.
The Naxi people have a splendid culture, of which the most important one is the Dongba language which consists of the only surviving hieroglyphic characters in the world, The Naxi people have their own language, which belongs to the Tibet-Burmese Branch of the Sino-Tibetan language Family (Yi Branch).
The Naxi people believe in Mahayana Buddhism, Taism and Lamaism. The famous Lijiang Murals well reveal their attitudes of broad-mindedness and their assimilation of diverse cultures.
The costumes of the Naxi men are not very different from those of the Han people. The Naxi women usually wear coats with loose sleeves and buttons on the right, vests, long trousers and pleated aprons. They also wear a goat-felt cape in the shoulders with the pattern of seven embroidered circles symbolizing diligence and hard working.
The Mosuo people , a branch of the Naxi nationality, still keep the unique Axia marital custom, and the trace of a matrilineal system can still be seen in this group. Therefore they are called the "Living Fossil" for a study of the development of human family and marriage.
The main fes5ivals of the Naxi people are the Bangbanghui festival on January 15th on the lunar calendar, the Sanduo Festival in February 8th and the live Stock Exchange Fair in March and June.
